The GrigioCarbonio Road T1000 BCD 110 mm cranks are made entirely of Torayca T1000 fiber, one of the most performing intermediate modulus fibers, developed for the aerospace sector and capable of optimizing the strength/weight ratio to the maximum. Another important feature of T1000 fiber in the great elasticity (25% more than T800), so a final better impact resistance, less vibrations and a superior comfort...all this is really great for bicycle cranks!

If the materials used are very important, the way and the technology with which they are used is even more important. GrigioCarbonio Road T1000 BCD 110 mm cranks are made with monolithic technology (monocoque) and are characterized by a "sandwich" structure with layers of twill type external bidirectional fabric that wrap a "core" in unidirectional UD fabric. The twill fabric is characterized by greater resistance to impacts and delamination while the unidirectional fabric allows you to make the most of the structural and mechanical properties of the fiber.
The left crank constitutes a single monolithic block with the axle (oversize diameter 30 mm), the spider on which the chainrings are mounted (BCD 110 mm 5 arms) is instead monolithic with right crank. The only aluminum parts are those that have threads, therefore the bushes onto which the pedals are screwed, the bush integrated into the axle onto which the right crank arm is screwed, the relative fixing screw and self-extracting ring nut and finally the preload ring nut which manages the side play of the bottom bracket bearings. All the "hardware" is generously sized with large safety margins.
The GrigioCarbonio Road T1000 BCD 110 mm cranks are made in different lengths (155 mm - 160 mm - 165 mm - 170 mm - 172.5 mm ), the Q-Factor is 148 mm, while the chain line is equal to 44.5 mm (optimized for the modern 12s double chainring drivetrains).
GrigioCarbonio Road T1000 BCD 110 mm cranks are made in 3 different versions, they are aesthetically and dimensionally identical, only the layering of the carbon changes and consequently the weights and intended uses:
- Ultralight - Intended for road racing use for those who want the lightest road racing cranks in the world and equipped with the best stiffness/weight ratio in the world! The weights range between 249 grams of the shortest size (155 mm) and 265 grams of the longest version (172.5 mm), tolerance +/- 5%.
- Performance - Intended for road racing use and also for gravel, it is the version dedicated to those looking for pure performance with greater stiffness without giving up record weights!
- Bompton - Intended for urban use, they are the lightest ever. The weights range between 239 grams of the shortest size (155 mm) and 255 grams of the longest version (172.5 mm), tolerance +/- 5%
The suggested finish of the cranks is matte with the classic 12k T1000 texture used by GrigioCarbonio, UD and glossy finish can be also chosen. The glossy finish requires additional painting with a slight increase in weight and is less strong than matte, UD finish adds around 12-15 grams.
The graphics are adhesive decals, which can be customized on request in terms of livery, size and positioning. All the aluminum parts have a black anodized finish, on request they can be gold anodized (limited availability).
The GrigioCarbonio Road T1000 BCD 110 mm cranks are equipped with an integrated 5-arm spider on which 5-hole double chainrings with 110 mm BCD can be mounted. They are not compatible with power meters that works on cranks. If you need to use a power meter, you can find pedals equipped with these measurement/monitoring systems on the market, otherwise you need to opt for Direct Mount version cranks. The chainrings are not included with the cranks and must be purchased separately.
The GrigioCarbonio Road T1000 BCD 110 mm cranks are compatible with different bottom bracket standards such as BSA, BB30, PF30, BBright or PressFit Shimano as long as they are equipped with bearings suitable for the 30 mm axle. The cranks are equipped with a practical preload ring nut for adjusting the lateral play of the bottom bracket bearings which allows you to optimize their smoothness and durability.
No bottom bracket is included with the cranks, so if you don't already have a suitable one, it must be purchased separately. Together with the cranks, GrigioCarbonio provides a kit of Delrin spacer rings of various thicknesses that allow installation with most bottom brackets on the market compatible with 30 mm axles. Upon request, for special cases, these spacer rings can also be made to measure.
The GrigioCarbonio Road T1000 BCD 110 mm cranks, like all GrigioCarbonio products, hasn't got any rider weight limit and are entirely made in Italy in an artisanal manner but with technologies that guarantee quality and absolute precision. The cranks are made through autoclave molding with composite material molds to guarantee maximum fibers compaction, containment of expansion and homogeneous distribution of the resin polymerization.
Thanks to a complex and detailed production process combined with obsessive attention to detail, it is possible to guarantee quality control worthy of an excellent product. In particular, great care was taken in measuring the axle diameter to ensure perfect coupling with the bottom bracket bearings and also the flatness of the chainrings, all with centesimal tolerances.
