The Extralite QRC-3 cranks are a true masterpiece of design and CNC machining that give life to a unique product in the cycling panorama. They are intended for road racing use for double chainring transmission with 5-arm BCD 110 mm standard. These are the lightest aluminum cranks on the market and among the lightest ever.
The kit include the crank arms, the integrated axle and the relative hardware necessary for assembly and adjustment. The bottom bracket is available as an option with various configurations both in terms of standard and type of bearings, while the chainrings and related fixing bolts can be purchased separately in our online shop.
The cranks are made from solid material, using sophisticated numerical control manufacturing (5-axis 3D) and hollow technology with ultra-lightened hollow cranks that are obsessively optimized in every detail. The design required over 2 years of CAD simulations and laboratory tests to obtain a truly excellent final result. The result is a structure capable of offering one of the best stiffness/weight ratios on the market and great reliability thanks to the quality of the materials and workmanship.
The axle structure is integrated with the right crank arm, has a diameter of 30 mm and is always machined from solid through numerically controlled machining starting from an aluminum alloy bar characterized by superior hardness and able to better resist the action of bearings. The left crank arm, on the other hand, incorporates a comfortable and efficient system of pre-load and adjustment of the lateral play of the bottom bracket bearings, it is a "click-dial" system that works in small clicks thanks to the presence of springs and balls inside it , which facilitates adjustment and avoids involuntary and unwanted loosening of the ring nut. The optimal adjustment of the lateral play of the bearings allows for longer bearing life and greater smoothness. Also on the left crank there is also a self-extracting system that allows you to assemble and disassemble the cranks with a simple 8 mm hexagonal Allen key.
The cranks are available exclusively in 170 mm length, the Q factor is very low and equal to 142 mm while the chain line is 44 mm according to the most modern trends. The integrated spider has standard BCD 110 mm 5 arms for 5-hole compact chainrings.
The finish is anodized in glossy black colour, very elegant and resistant over time. The graphics are laser engraved while the "QRC-3" logo is milled into the cranks. Upon request and as an option (with availability and timing always to be verified at the moment) other types of finishing are possible, always anodized.
The Extralite QRC-3 cranks weighs only 358 grams which includes the crank arms with integrated axle and the related hardware (left crank fixing screw with relative self-extracting ring nut, bearing lateral play preload adjustment ring, bearing bushes). This result places them at the top of the category, making them the lightest aluminum cranks with integrated spider on the market and among the lightest overall. We would like to point out that this result was obtained not at the expense of general performance and reliability which are maintained at levels of excellence thanks to truly superlative design.
Extralite also produces a series of dedicated bottom brackets for QRC-3 cranks which can be purchased in combination by selecting the standard from the following:

Extralite bottom brackets use the highest quality 6806 (30x42x7 mm) industrial bearings, available with the following options :
- ABI-Enduro Standard (the cheapest solution, great impact resistance and excellent durability especially in dry conditions)
- ABi-Enduro Stainless (stainless steel guarantees greater resistance to corrosion, making them the optimal choice in humid conditions)
- HyC Hyper Ceramic (The ceramic spheres guarantee greater smoothness, lower weight, and excellent general performance)
- XD-15 Ceramic (Added to the characteristics of HyC is greater durability, they are completely regenerable)
The only exception is represented by the BB91-41B bottom bracket which includes special 41 mm bearings available only in the ABI-Enduro Standard version.
Combined with the QRC-3 cranks you can also purchase the Extralite chainrings : the Octaramp RC (50-34T) and MC (52-36T) series which you can always find in our shop.
As regards the chainring fixing bolts, 4 standard males + 4 standard females are required, the fifth bolt is special (it screws directly onto the crank arm and is hidden from view) and is already supplied by Extralite. From the Extralite catalog you can therefore choose for example the Extrabolt 1 which you always find in our shop.
As an option, the "Aero Nose" can be purchased in combination with the cranks, which are a pair of crank arms ends, they serve to improve aerodynamics and prevent dirt from entering the lightening holes of the cranks. They are made of plastic material via 3D printing and can be easily inserted and removed from the cranks. They add 3.6 grams of total weight.
