Extralite Aliens 3

Wit only 55 grams for the pair (27 gr. front ; 28 gr. rear), Extralite Aliens 3 are some of the lightest and finest wheel skewers.

They are for traditional quick release hubs 9x100 mm and 10x130-135 mm. They fit MTB and road frames/forks both with 9.5 maximum dropout thickness.

Althought their lightweight, they have a great performance and reliability due their progressive and continue development that begun more than a decade ago. Extralite Aliens are used with succes in many competitions.

 To obtain this result, Extralite have chosen best materials and technologies with the help of a clever design.

Axles are made of aerospacial hi-grade Titanium rods that are forged, butted and CNC machined with rolled threads, to withstand up to 1300 kgf of pull. Each axle is individually ultrasonic tested.

Levers are made of Al7075T6 fine cnc machined to save weight and obtain perfect ergonomicity. All edges are very well rounded and levers are designed to wrap around the fork leg.

Anodized finishing is very hard and doesn't add weight, and, with the help of laser etched graphics, add a touch of elegance.

An eccentric cam system help lever locking with a smooth action (synthetic self lubing bushing) and require a very low effort to obtain an ultrasafe locking.

Axle ends are also fully Al 7075T6 cnc made and they're very well enginered and optimized as usual for Extralite. Nuts and base plates can self-adjust to reduce stress on rods threads.

Furthermore they offer some really unique features : 4 retainers firmly keep the axle springs in place, avoiding any chance to lose or misplace them, even during a tire change under a race-day pressure.
