PORTE (ex BERG) Hrunting super-light MTB Flat carbon handlebar, made with the best materials and technologies and optimized in lamination to offer the best possible strength/weight and quality/price ratio.
The angle of inclination of the handlebar (backsweep) is a modern 9 °, it is a flat handlebar with 0 mm of rise, and is produced in width from 620-760 mm (the handlebar can be shortened, there is a graduated scale at the ends which facilitates the operation, information on this is given in the user manual). The diameter is 31.8 mm oversize.
The maximum weight limit allowed for the biker is 100 kg. The handlebar is not compatible with the use of bar-ends.
The handlebar is made using high quality pre-impregnated carbon fiber (Mitsubishi HR40 and Torayca T800 and T1000 fibers) which are laminated in various layers skillfully arranged in a sandwich structure alternating one-way and two-way fibers. The polymerization takes place in an autoclave where the fabrics are compacted with high pressure in order to eliminate imperfections and create a solid product with the right percentage of resin. The particular and unique design characterized by a very wide central section allows to reduce both bending and weight.
The final result is a very high-performance and extremely safe product capable of passing the strict ISO 4210-5 2014 tests conducted by EFBe (a well-known German certification institution). The handlebar is subjected to fatigue tests (both in phase and out of phase and in lateral flexion). If more than 3 months pass between one production batch and the next, the tests are repeated.
In addition to the official certification tests carried out on behalf of the manufacturer, we at Dream Bikes have carried out independent tests on PORTE (ex BERG) handlebars, these are static tests to reach the maximum breaking load also performed to verify the compressive strength during the tightening (stem, brake levers, shifters and remote controls). The test results were flattering and confirmed the quality and reliability of the product.
The PORTE (ex BERG) Hrunting handlebar is made with a final layer of UD weave carbon (unidirectional), the handlebar is protected by a transparent paint layer that can be chosen either glossy or matte. The decal with the PORTE logo is black and is positioned under the paint.
The PORTE (ex BERG) Hrunting handlebar is characterized by an extremely low weight, at the top of the category with only 105 grams in its maximum width (760 mm), the weight tolerance is +/- 5 grams (due to the percentage of resin actually present and the quantity and type of protective paint). The handlebar can be shortened up to 620 mm, therefore in the shorter versions it is lighter (in the table below you can see a projection of the indicative weights for the various widths), however we recommend if possible to use it in its maximum width in order to have the greatest benefit from its modern geometry and the particular structure that makes it resistant and rigid but also comfortable at the same time.
The PORTE (ex BERG) Hrunting handlebar is designed and conceived for MTB XC, XCO and Marathon use. It is used by various racers and has also been tested in the world cup together with other BERG products. It is covered by a regular 2-year warranty plus a 3-year Crash Replacement formula which includes a replacement handlebar at a special discounted price (-40%) in case of accidental breakage. Warranty and Crash replacement are applicable to the first owner only. The production process first involves the design and simulation on the computer, the prototypes are then made and tested and analyzed by both the racers and the engineers, the final step is the regulatory tests performed in Germany by EFBE following the most severe procedures. The tests are repeated over time at periodic intervals of 3 months to ensure adequate quality control.
PORTE (ex BERG) products are having a great success on the market, beyond the rosiest expectations and this has created for some products quite long waiting times, so everything that we actually have available in stock ready for delivery is marked as "IN STOCK" (just select the desired version and verify). All the other combinations have the words "TO ORDER" and consequently must be ordered specifically with very variable waiting times (they can be available for immediate delivery in the central warehouse in Belgium or in the production phase with more or less long waiting times) , we therefore always recommend contacting us so that we can check the timing with the manufacturer.
The products to be ordered (those not available for immediate delivery in our warehouse) are to be considered made and procured to order and as such fall outside the canonical right of withdrawal for remote sales and require full advance payment. The cash on delivery method is therefore excluded for these products.
