Magped Ultra Magnetic Pedals Titanium

Magped is an Austrian brand famous for their innovative magnetic safety pedals. Ultra series pedals, thanks to the titanium spindles, are the lightest one for off-road use.

Magped pedals are really an ingenious solution, the engage system is composed by a neodymium magnet fixed on to a flat pedal and amagnetic cleat compatible with SPD shoes.

This kind of solution has got many advantages :

• A better pedaling efficiency - The magped pedal ensures a continuous circular tread by employing extensor muscles (70%) as well as flexor muscles (30%) for maximum riding performance. You will feel the difference especially on longer rides.
• An easier and safer use - Depending on your choice of pedal the magnet will connect you up to approx. 15 kg in pulling force. The force deploys primarily in a downward force and therefore a quick and simple release with a sideways move of your foot is possible practically without effort. But even in more critical situations the pulling force can be overcome without difficulties in a vertical direction as well.
• A bigger support surface - we are talking about an automatic pedal with a big support surface like a flat pedal! The weight is better distributed and you can use softer and more comfortable shoes. Cleats are very thin and do not protrude for a better walkability.
• A better positioning - The pedal allows for several degrees of twist of your foot and therefore provides less strain on your ankles during your rides. In addition the foot position can be varied to the front or back without a loss of pulling force for an ideal position on your ascend and your descend.
• No mud problems - The shoe plate is made of anti corrosion treated steel and in comparison to other systems the magped pedal is insensitive to dirt and mud.

The system is very versatile and easy to tune up, you can adjust pedals in three way :

1. Magnet power - Ultra pedals are available with 150 N magnet (for riders up to 80 kg) or with 200 N magnet (for riders over 75 kg). Magnet exchange is very easy and magnets are available as spare parts / accessories.
2. Magnet/Cleat spacing - There's an integrated polymer damper unit between the magnet and the pedal. This damper allow the magnet to follow shoe inclination, but if you tighten the fixing bolt you can increase damper preload and modify the distance between the magnet and the shoe cleat.
3. Pins height - Pedal pins are available in different lenghts due to increase shoes compatibility range and adjust shoe rotation.

Magped pedals aren't only innovative and easy to use but has got also a very good quality. The main of the pedal is made of CNC machined aluminium,  spindles are made with the same technology but with titanium and allows a great weight saving. Pedal pins are made of aluminium and are removable. Magnet is an high quality neodymium one with lifetime charge. All Magped magnets are coated with a strong metal protective coating and the magnets are embedded in a strong stainless-steel holding pot. The pot protects the magnet against damage while also concentrating the magnetic force in the north/south direction where it's needed. There are 3 high quality industrial sealed bearings with double PU lip seals.

Magped Ultra pedals are 100 mm lenght and 85 mm wide, height change from 15 mm (in the middle) to 18 mm (at the edge) they're concave.

Magped Ultra pedals weighs 379 grams (pair 150 N) and 390 grams (pair 200 N). It's a very good weight for a magnetic pedal with a flat type pedal size. They're the lightest Magped pedals intended for off-road use.

You can use Magped Ultra pedals for MTB (XC, Trail, All Mountain, Marathon, Enduro, Free-ride), E-Bike or gravel. They're compatible with SPD shoes (2 bolts fixing). Flat and soft shoes are recommended for a better grip.

magped Ultra pedals come with a complete equipment, you can find a pair of pedals, 32x aluminium pins, 2x magnetic steel cleats and spacers, 8x magnetic cleats fixing bolts (2 different lenghts), some spare pins with special tool and 3x hex wrenches for installation and tuning.

Magped are designed and made in Austria with high quality standards and great care to details. Ultra pedals finishing is dark grey anodized with green hardware and laser graphic etches for a long lasting.
