Carbon-Ti X-Plug OS expander is an useful and ultralight accessory for your bicycle, it's removable and allows to fix the headset cap bolt and adjust headset preload.
X-Plug OS special design assure a wide range of compatibility with most of 1.1/4" Oversize steerer tubes on the market, carbon fiber made or aluminium made both. Can be used on road racing bicycles, gravel and mountain bikes.
X-Plug OS expander is compatible with steering tubes with an inner diameter from 24.0 to 28.0 mm and with headset caps which are equipped of M6 bolts.
X-Plug OS expander is very easy and fast to install, only an 8 mm allen hex key is required to do the job. After the headset adjusting you can also remove X-Plug OS expander and save some additional weight. You can use X-Plug OS expander on many bicycles, if you own more than one, or use it for future bicycles.
X-Plug OS is lighter and easier to install and remove than classic steel star nuts (1), when you install and remove it you don't damage the steerer tubes and the expander itself so you can reuse it many times. Star nuts (1) aren't compatible with carbon fiber steerer tubes,require special tools for installation and removal, removing the star nut isn't easy and usually damage the inner side of the steering tube.
X-Plug OS allows to save a lot of weight (even more than 70%!) than first equipment carbon fiber compatible expanders (2) e (3), it weighs only 17 grams, there are on the market many expanders which weighs more than 50 grams.
X-Plug OS has got a special external knurling finishing which assure a great grip with the steerer tube surface, most of expanders are smooth with less grip (2).
X-Plug OS expander is 7075T6 aluminium CNC made and has got a nice and clever design. Silver/black anodized finishing preserve aluminium from oxidation and assure a long time lasting.
Carbon-Ti produce also an headset cap (X-Cap Carbon Matte OS) specific for 1.1/4" oversize standard, you can find it on our webshop. X-Plug OS expander, as all Carbon-Ti products, is fully Made in Italy.
