With only 290 grams medium weight (28 holes, 280 grams for front one and 300 grams for rear one, +/- 5% tolerance), GrigioCarbonio HardWheel AS31 T1000 rims are, for their size, the lightest and finest ones on the market.
They're 34 mm wide with 31 mm inner channel and 25 mm height.
They've got asymmetrical shape with 3 mm offset and this allow to obtain a better balancing of spokes tension on both wheel sides. The result is a strong wheel that will maintain spoke tension and truing for a longer time with a great reliability and longevity (spokes are less stressed).
Rim structure is differentiated from front and rear rim because the types and intensity of loads are different on front and rear wheel so make sense to optimize structural dimensioning. Rear rim weighs about 20 grams more and can withstand to bigger static loads and torsional loads introduced from transmission; the presence of the freewheel-body also create an asymmetry in the wheel design with greater difference on spoke tension between wheel sides. So this type of differentiation is the response for a real need especially if you are going to offer the lightest rim on the market. We think that AS31 T1000 rims are actually the ones with differentiated structure for front/rear rim.
Rim side walls and inner channel has got Hook-less type design but they also have got anti-beading hooks for a double safety. They are probably the only carbon rims on the market with anti-beading hooks because make carbon rims with hooks is very difficult and expensive but is surely a plus always welcome, specially on a premium product!
Side walls are fully made with well compacted structural fibers without any filling material and or interrupted fibers. This assure a great impact resistance and avoid any risk of de-lamination.
HardWheel AS31 T1000 rims are available in 24-28-32 h drilling with T1000 12K fabrics, really elegant and racing at the same time, or UD unidirectional fabrics, matte or glossy finishing choice.
Graphics are sticker type so fully removibile, you can change them if worn out or only to change look. They're are available in many colors directly cutted or printed from 3M high quality vinyls. Please write the color that you prefer in the order notes or let us know your choice through e-mail.
HardWheel AS31 T1000 rims are compatible with 29" Tubeless or Tubeless Ready tires (with sealant conversion systems). The oversize shape assure a great stiffness and a greater air volume so you can use lower inflating pressure with better performances (better grip, traction, comfort and puncture resistance). The rim valve zone has got a special aluminium insert that protect the carbon fiber and assure a better sealing due to the ultra flat surface. The aluminium insert is fully CNC machined with GC milled logo and black anodized finishing for an amazing detailing.
HardWheel AS31 rims are monolithic and fully T1000 high module fibers made, the most advanced and performing on the market, which allows to create products with an incredible stiffness/weight ratio. Another important feature of T1000 fiber in the great elasticity (25% more than T800), so a final better impact resistance, less vibrations and a superior comfort...all this is really great for a MTB rim!
